Camrost-Felcorp reveals a sophisticated new Mike Niven-designed model suite at 9T6 Condominium Residences

A sophisticated, tailored design creates an urban but elegant impression at the stunning new model suite for Camrost-Felcorp’s 9T6 Condominium Residences.
The 840-sq.-ft., two-bedroom model – designed by Mike Niven of Mike Niven Interior Design – pairs dark wood elements with a neutral colour palette in a space that’s both cool and contemporary.
“I think overall it fits with the building itself,” says Niven. “It’s cool, sophisticated and it’s urban.”
A custom kitchen, designed especially for 9T6 Condos by Niven and his team, sets the tone for the rest of the space. There, the designer integrates open and closed storage in clean-lined cabinets of dark wood with sleek stainless steel pulls and matching stainless steel appliances. The countertops are white quartz and the backsplash is mirrored with a unique frosted element. “We wanted something a little different, so the bottom part of it is frosted just to give a linear component,” says Niven says. “It’s a simple detail, but something a little different.”
The kitchen overlooks the open-concept living/dining space, where the designer has introduced dark, slatted wood panels on the walls to offer definition to each room. One sets off a contemporary table that cantilevers off of the wall, while the other contrasts with an armless sofa in neutral beige set in front. The room also features two simple cream chairs placed in front of the window and a dark, wood shelf running the length of the room underneath a wall-mounted television. The floors throughout the space are medium-toned plank laminate.
The two bedrooms, meanwhile, have matching colour schemes but entirely different looks. The guest room features a low headboard with built-in night stands, paired with local black-and-white photographs lined up above, and a white and chocolate brown bedspread featuring a circle motif. The master bedroom, meanwhile, is slightly more sophisticated, with hotel-style bedding and a dark wood screen that’s used as a headboard. “It sort of plays on a boutique hotel feel,” says Niven.
Suites throughout 9T6 Condos play on that same hotel-style luxury, with interiors that feature plank laminate flooring in the principal rooms, three-quarter inch thick stone kitchen counters, frosted glass and mirrored kitchen backsplashes, a brand-name kitchen appliance package, rich ceramics in the spa-inspired bathrooms, a stacked washer and dryer, and more.
The attention to design extends outside as well, with exterior glass and panel-clad architecture by Atkins Group Corporation that is sure to enhance the existing streetscape, with contemporary aluminum and glass balcony railings, plus awning-style and elegant French sliding windows.
Located steps from Queen Street West, the building is close to a range of shops, cafés, bistros and nightclubs, as well as to the TTC, Nathan Phillips Square and the Art Gallery of Ontario. Meanwhile, 9T6 Condos‘s amazing list of amenities has been designed with direct feedback from registrants, with a 24-hour concierge delivered from a two-storey lobby lounge, as well as a richly appointed library/media room, and a fully furnished hotel-style guest suite. In the second-floor amenity space, there will also be state-of-the-art fitness facilities; a multi-tiered garden terrace with hot tub, sunbathing area and barbeque patio; and a party room, highlighted by a backlit glass bar, designer-selected furnishings and kitchen facilities.
