X-Ceptional Condo Model Suite
Designed for the ultimate in urban living
This spring, Great Gulf Homes introduced “X The Condominium” in downtown Toronto, and this sleek, 44-storey tower has proven an immediate hit. Sophisticated urban purchasers appreciate the condominium’s ideal location at Jarvis and Charles Streets, as well as the modern lifestyle offered.
The must-see Cecconi Simone-designed model suite showcases the striking effect of the luxurious standards, including a custom-designed kitchen, pre-finished engineered wood in the living/dining room and foyer, and a custom Corian sink in all master ensuites.
Upon entering the 707-sq.-ft., one-bedroom plus den Breuer model, notice the arresting white-on-white colour palette that is also startlingly warm. An impressive wall of storage just inside the entry extends into the suite through the linear kitchen. Here, the white lacquered cabinetry is accented with stunning frosted-glass cabinet fronts and is paired with a white Corian countertop, and a built-in pantry.
The freestanding kitchen island offers additional workspace for the culinary-inclined, and this model features the optional pullout dining table of contrasting dark wood. Cecconi-Simone added benches that can slide under the table for dining, or double as guest seating when the table is tucked away. In addition to maximizing living space, the linear kitchen offers an unobstructed view of the massive window wall at the opposite end of the suite.
The large open living area allows owners to cook, dine and live in natural light-drenched comfort, with magnificent views taking a prominent role in your everyday surroundings. This room offers plenty of flexibility for furniture placement, and many of the furnishings for the model were designed especially for X, and will become part of Cecconi-Simone’s “Oni One” furniture collection.
Another example of urban style is the Le Corbusier chaise lounge fashioned with pony print upholstery, situated next to the urban fireplace. The fireplace incorporates vertical storage for DVDs, candles and other accessories that help to personalize this space. In the main living area, the low furniture has built-in storage.
Access to the balcony is from the main living area, and the adjacent den, decorated as a home office, also features a wall of windows. In the bedroom, owners will enjoy natural light and views afforded by the windows and balcony. The white-on-white colour palette carries through to this welcoming haven, where the bed is topped by textural white linens showcased in the glow from the backlit glass headboard, and anchored by storage drawers underneath. The Breuer’s huge amount of storage space is augmented by the linen closet, storage closet and washer/dryer space.
X The Condominium’s exterior is designed by Peter Clewes of award-winning architectsAlliance. This Toronto condo is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants along Bloor Street, in Yorkville, and in the Church Street neighbourhood. X offers 24-hour concierge service, plus “The Scene” - a 14,000-sq.-ft. owners’ club that will encompass a library, billiard room, video lounge and decadent clubroom and bar overlooking the roof garden and outdoor pool surrounded by cabanas and lounge furniture.
Celebrating over 30 years of homeowner satisfaction, Great Gulf Homes is the Greater Toronto Home Builders’ Association’s 2006 Home Builder of the Year, and the only company to date to receive this distinction twice.
Available suites available include one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, two-bedroom and two-bedroom plus den, ranging in size from 518 to 1,660 sq. ft., priced from $184,990 to over $600,000. Many designs offer nine-ft. ceilings. First occupancies are slated for December 2009.
