Curvy condos’s lines stand out
Eliciting comparisons to Marilyn Monroe, the curving lines of the Absolute condo towers immediately stand out on Mississauga’s rapidly-growing skyline.
The design for the towers, drawn up by the Beijing office of MAD under the direction of architect Yansong Ma, was chosen in 2006 following a competition that saw 92 submissions from around the world.
When completed, the taller of the two towers – slated to reach 50 storeys – will be the tallest building in Mississauga. The second building will be 40 floors in height.
Construction began in the spring of 2007. The first tower was initially slated for completion in 2009, but the current projected completion date is unknown.
Combined, the two towers are slated to contain more than 800 units, including penthouse suites.
